When you need legal advice it's hard to know where to start or what's involved. You're not alone. Most of our clients have similar questions. That's why we created this section. Take a look around and when you're ready, click on the "Find out More" button below.
All new clients fill out an intake form (by clicking the "Find out More" button or going to the "Services" page). If you need assistance, use the contact us page or give us a call. Our intake forms are designed to give us the essential information we require to begin the process and help you organize your needs in a systematic easy to understand manner. It is also online and available 24/7 to save both you and our firm time.
We love to answer client questions. Once we have the intake form we are in a better position to give you an intelligent response. We also always ensure there is a clear straight forward mutual understanding about the process, fees, and costs before we get started on the work. Our process includes a zoom or phone call where we go over all of the important details of the following steps. We are always available via phone or email.
We always discuss the retainer and all fees and costs prior to you signing up. We cannot ethically begin work until you sign our fee agreement. Costs and expenses, on the other hand, include notary services, fees collected by the state, count, or city government of California, license fees, or court fees. Legal plans do not pay for costs and expenses. Those are always the client's responsibility in full.
We need certain documents from you to get the work done. For estate plans, we need a current deed and any and all pages attached to it sometimes referred to as Exhibit "A" and certain documents notarized as well as a valid current ID. Your ID must match the name you use for these estate instruments. We will always work with you to figure out what's required.
Most estate plans can take an estimated 30 days on average from start to finish depending on how quickly we get the documents we need from you, how many files we currently have, and how busy the county recorder's office might be. We can at times get things done in a matter of weeks and there are expedited services at an extra charge. We appreciate your patience. We will stay in communication with you every step so you know exactly what's going on.
Once the work is done, you have your files and services are complete, we like to send out a disengagement letter to thank you for trusting us with your needs and close the loop by explaining the end of the attorney-client relationship. We will always be here if you ever need us again in the future.

For personal injury matters, there is no out of pocket expense
We always discuss the retainer and all fees and costs prior to you signing up. In a personal injury case, we do not take fees from our clients. We only get a percentage of the case once it settles. If you are from a legal plan our fees are reduced. However, we cannot ethically begin work until you sign our fee agreement. Costs and expenses will be explained to you in our consultation.
We need certain documents from you to get the work done. After the intake form is filled out we need photos and some signatures on a designee (so we can show the insurance companies we represent you), HIPPA release (so we can get your medical records related to the accident), and fee agreement and sometimes other forms if there are others involved in the same case.
Most personal injury (PI) cases take between 6 months to 1.5 years. Usually we'll be done in 9 months to 1 year on average depending on your injuries and treatment schedule. The first stage is where you hire our firm and begin treatment for your injuries. During this period we periodically get updates from you and discuss progress. This might take 3 to 6 months on average. Then we gather all the medical records once you're done with treatment. Then we put together the evidence into a deman
