Intake Process / Services

All new clients fill out an intake form (by clicking the "Find out More" button or going to the "Services" page). If you need assistance, use the contact us page or give us a call. Our intake forms are designed to give us the essential information we require to begin the process. It is also online and available 24/7 to save both you and our firm time.

Communication

We love to answer client questions. Once we have the intake form we are in a better position to give you an intelligent response. We also always ensure there is a clear straight forward mutual understanding about the process, fees, and costs before we get started on the work. We are always available via phone or email.

Retainer and Fees/Legal Plans

We always discuss the retainer and all fees and costs prior to you signing up. We cannot ethically begin work until you sign our fee agreement. Costs and expenses, on the other hand, include notary services, fees collected by the state, count, or city government of California, license fees, or court fees. Legal plans do not pay for costs and expenses. Those are always the client's responsibility in full.

Documents we need

We need certain documents from you to get the work done. For estate plans, we need a current deed and certain documents notarized as well as a valid ID. We will always work with you to figure out what's required.

The Work

Estate plans can take 30-60 days from start to finish depending on how quickly we get the documents we need from you, how many files we currently have, and how busy the county recorder's office might be. We appreciate your patience. We will stay in communication with you every step so you know exactly what's going on.

Disengagement

Once the work is done, you have your files and services are complete, we like to send out a disengagement letter to thank you for trusting us with your needs and close the loop by explaining the end of the attorney-client relationship. We will always be here if you ever need us again in the future.
